Old Moment

Today the soccer teams I coach had a picnic and a “parents vs kids” game. I had one of those “I’m old” moments after the game when I realized that I’m about 10 years removed from the best soccer I ever played. It doesn’t help that my back aches and that I have responsibilities.

Speaking of which, I am going to El Salvador soon for an international rotation in internal medicine. While there, I will be doing independent study towards a joint public health degree I am working on. I will be keeping a blog of my time/work down there as part of my grade in case the 2 people reading this blog get even more bored and need something else to do.

Conjunctivitis

Remember those “essays” in elementary school with prompts like “describe the picture shown below?” The picture was always a person dressed like a farmer or astronaut or some such thing, and the teacher would tell you to start at the person’s head and describe what they looked like all the way down their body. Well here is me…

His head looks normal. He has short hair. His eyes are very red. They look really itchy. It looks like there is crusty stuff on the corners of his eyes. His face looks sad. But, he still looks super cool.

Grade: A+

The next president?
I was thinking, and this is random and has nothing to do with the Obameister, the other day about how much I like cliches. I often hear people discussing how there must be a more sophisticated or even the “perfect” way to describe a common feeling or situation without using a cliche. I’m willing to sacrifice expressive creativity to successfully portray a feeling/emotion. A cliche is what it is for a reason, and lately I’ve found the ability of cliches to make up for the lack of words in the English language to be refreshing.

wtf

I thought that today was going to be a day for stress relief (last shelf exam of the year), but instead it became the most stressful day of the semester.

At least life will continue to be this busy forever so I can get used to it…

Monkey Brain -

I’m not sure why this reminds me of a particular friend of mine. :-)

Hallo

Qu’est-ce qui se passe? Je suis la jeune fille (a la muzzy).

Don’t expect much because I’m not capable of giving more than just a little. For now my life consists of school and work

That is all.
